The American rock band My Chemical Romance has unveiled another makeup collection in collaboration with HipDot. The collection is cruelty-free and vegan.
2000s rock band My Chemical Romance created their latest makeup line, their second in partnership with American cosmetics company HipDot. It is inspired by their 2010 album, “Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys”.
The range includes a white eyeliner duo set, a white primer jar, a four piece lip gloss set and an eyeliner palette. These are based on the band’s Killjoy alter-egos, namely Party Poison (Gerard Way), Jet-Star (Ray Toro), Fun Ghoul (Frank Iero) and Kobra Kid (Mikey Way).
All items are vegan and cruelty-free, for example, liquid lipsticks contain desert cactus flower which gives the product its moisturizing and nourishing properties.
Breaking the news in an Instagram post, HipDot wrote, “MCR fans, we’ve heard you loud and clear! We’ve put our hearts into this collaboration and hope you all enjoy our first official pre-order-only launch. Your love and support mean the world to us and we wouldn’t be here without you! We’re doing things differently this time around to ensure FANS have the option to reserve their Limited Edition #HIPDOTxMCR 2 Collector’s Set. All collector’s sets will be made to order, just for you! “
Vegan Limited Collection 2020
Last December, the group launched their first makeup line called “The Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge”. This limited edition collection was also vegan and animal testing free. It sold out in a day.
In the past, the group has expressed its position on animal testing and against all forms of animal cruelty. In an interview with PETA’s Youth Division, singer Gerard Way said when he was in school, teachers punished children if they refused to dissect animals. But he says learning can still happen with alternatives to dead animals.
